    jeudi 27 août 2015
    • Montreal, August 27, 2015 – Jean-François M. Proulx, Eng., P.Eng., Senior Associate at GORD Associates Consulting, was elected to the office of President of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec at an extraordinary meeting of the OIQ’s Board of Directors held today in Montreal. Mr. Proulx succeeds Robert Sauvé, Eng., FEC, who stepped down from the presidency of the OIQ on August 12. Mr. Proulx was elected for a term that will end at the OIQ’s next Annual General Meeting, which is scheduled in June 2016.
    • “I am excited to take over from my predecessor. I intend to continue the work begun last year to transform the OIQ and align the organization with all of its stakeholders,” stated Mr. Proulx.
With a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and an MBA from McGill University, Mr. Proulx has over 20 years of experience as a manager of large industrial projects. A member of the OIQ’s Board of Directors since 2014, he was appointed Chair of the Governance Committee and has held the office of Vice President of the Board since June 2015. Mr. Proulx is also a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
Members of the Board of Directors also elected a new Vice President to fill in the office that was held by Mr. Proulx until his appointment. Accordingly, Pascale Lapointe, Eng., Project Manager, joins the OIQ's Executive Committee. All the other Executive Committee members elected in June remain in office as well.
It should be noted that under a motion adopted by members at the Annual General Meeting in June 2014, the President who will take office in June 2016 for a two-year term will be elected by members through universal suffrage.
