    Kathy Baig, Eng., FIC, MBA is elected President of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec

    • Montreal, May 28, 2016 – At the end of the voting period from May 6 to 27, 2016 in which all members of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) were invited to participate, Kathy Baig, Eng., FIC, MBA, was elected to the office of President of the OIQ for a term of two years.
    • Currently Project Manager at Aéroports de Montréal, Ms. Baig holds the office of First Vice President on the OIQ’s 95th Board of Directors.

      In addition, six directors were elected for a term of three years in three of the eight electoral regions where directorships were to be filled.

      Montreal region (participation rate: 17.01%)
      Charles Bombardier, Eng., M.Sc.A., ASC
      Louis Champagne, Eng., FIC
      Sandra Gwozdz, Eng., FIC
      Christelle Proulx, Eng.

      Quebec City region (participation rate: 17.79%)
      Anne Baril, Eng.

      Abitibi-Témiscamingue region (participation rate: 17.06%)
      Éric Bordeleau, Eng., CD

      For the first time at the OIQ, members filled out their ballot on line, both for the election of the president and the directors in the electoral regions where seats were to be filled.

      The official report presenting the full results was prepared by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. Under section 45 of the Regulation respecting representation on the Board of Directors of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and elections to said Board, it will be published in the participant handbook prepared for the Annual General Meeting of members, which will take place on June 16.

      The elected President and directors will begin their duties on June 22, at the first meeting of the OIQ’s 96th Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will also elect the Executive Committee for 2016-2017 on that date.
