The Disciplinary Council of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec fines Érick Frigon a total of $30,000

    jeudi 30 mars 2017
    • Montreal, March 30, 2017 – The Disciplinary Council of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec rendered its decision on sanction in the case of Érick Frigon, Eng., who will be fined a total of $30,000. In its decision, the Disciplinary Council also ordered Mr. Frigon to pay all costs in connection with the proceedings.
    • For tolerating a contract sharing scheme that made it possible to circumvent the City of Saint-Jérôme’s competitive bidding process, Mr. Frigon was found guilty of violating three sections of the Code of Ethics of Engineers pertaining to the use of dishonest or doubtful practices, a lack of integrity and situations of conflicts of interest.

Mr. Frigon’s alleged offences occurred between 2008 and 2010, while he was a director of engineering for the City of Saint-Jérôme.

The fines imposed in connection with this decision by the Disciplinary Council are payable within 45 days of the expiry of the appeal period. As a reminder, the sanctions imposed by the Disciplinary Council are meant to protect the public by dissuading professionals from repeating offences and by setting an example for other members of the profession.

The full version of the Disciplinary Council’s decision, including the summary of charges, is available on the OIQ’s Web site.
